CCS Increases Sub Pay for 22-23 School Year

Craven County Schools Increase Substitute Pay

At the August 16, 2022, Board of Education Work Session, Human Resources shared the need for highly qualified substitutes. In an effort to boost participation, Human Resources recommended an increase in the daily rate of pay for the various classifications of substitutes.

The new rates are:
  • $112.50 (Regular),
  • $126.50 (ETT),
  • $141.50 (Certified)
If you have ever considered being a long-term or daily substitute, NOW is the time. Your commitment to this need can help with the teacher shortage while ensuring there is a highly qualified individual in the classroom until a teacher can be hired. Daily Substitutes are also needed when a teacher has an emergency or is sick.

The district is also allowing long-term substitutes to go past the mandated 16 days per month (long-term) and allowing substitutes to start working and preparing for teachers' return on August 17, 2022.
