Craven County Schools Welcomes New Coordinator of Counseling Services & Student Advancement

Help Us Welcome Ms. Laureel Butler, Coordinator of Counseling Services & Student Advancement
Ms. Laureel Butler is a Detroit native who comes to us from The Community College System. Prior to earning her Masters in School Counseling, she utilized Slingerland Methods to teach students with dyslexia and other learning impairments. She has spent most of her adult life assisting military families with accessing and applying for scholarships and enrichment opportunities. During her free time, she volunteers in the community with her sorority and drives her children around to volleyball and other volunteer events. Laureel is the proud mom of two Havelock Rams (Gabe and Peyton), and a bonus parent to her daughter's sulcata tortoise CC(Chocolate Cake).
Ms. Butler shares, "I am excited to join Craven County Schools. There are many local opportunities in this state and in our local area. I want to ensure that students are not only being made aware of the many opportunities available, but I also want to see them seize these opportunities and make informed choices when planning for life after high school. I look forward to supporting our school counselors, and learning of more ways we can develop all of our Craven County Students."
Let's give Ms. Butler a BIG CCS Congratulations and Welcome!
