Help us in welcoming Mr. Wayne Muller to Ben D. Quinn Elementary School!

Mr. Muller will be the new assistant principal this year at BDQ and is looking forward to starting the new school year.
Here's a little information from Mr. Muller:
"I was born in Virginia Beach, VA but was raised in upstate NY in the small town of Moira, NY. I spent my summers a child and early teen in Durham, NC where my father resides. I have an older sister who works at Duke Medical Center doing Patient Research and a younger sister who has a license in cosmetology but wants to go back to school for Library Sciences. My mother is a Teaching Assistant and my father is a machinist. I am happily married to my wife of 4 years; Elizabeth and we have three beautiful foster children who we hope will be able to join our family permanently.
I enjoy running. I like competing in half marathons, and my greatest running accomplishment is finishing the Wrightsville Beach Marathon back in 2018.

I graduated in 2007 from Brushton-Moira Central School, attended SUNY Potsdam and obtained my Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2011. I remained at SUNY Potsdam and obtained my Master's in Elementary Education in 2013. I am currently enrolled at ECU obtaining my Master’s in School Administration and will graduate in May 2020.

I have been in the education field going on 7 years now. I spent the first two and a half years as a third-grade teacher in Alamance County, and the last 3 and a half years here in Craven County.

I was the 2018-2019 Teacher Ambassador for Havelock Elementary School. I am a member of the 2018-2019 Project Based Learning Fellowship through the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. I have coached STRIDE through the YMCA for the past 3 years at Havelock Elementary and hope to be able to help with that this coming year as well.

In my time as an educator, I have been a Grove Park Elementary Jr. Bulldog, a Havelock Elementary Eagle, and now get to join the Ben D. Quinn Bulldog family.
I am excited to join this family and to learn and grow with you all!"
