HJM News Week of Sept 7-10

Announcements for the Week of Sept 7 - 10:

No School on Monday, September 6 due to it being Labor Day!

Instructional Reminders:

Students should report to school with a FULLY charged iPad each day. Many classes still use iPads heavily to access reading materials and complete assignments.

Progress Reports will be available for parent/guardian review on Monday, September 20.

PowerSchool parent letters were provided at Orientation to assist parents in logging into the Parent Portal to monitor grades and attendance of their student. Please stay “connected” to your child’s learning!

Health and Safety Reminders:

Masks must be worn at all times and covering the nose and mouth of students. The exceptions are: meal times and during authorized mask breaks.

PLEASE keep your child home if they are sick with ANY symptoms connected to COVID 19. This helps to minimize risk for ALL students in your child’s classroom and school building.

Let’s continue to work together to help our students remain in school for as long as we can.

School Expectation Reminders:

Students are expected to follow the dress code established by Craven County Schools. Reminders to address the common infractions observed:

Pants should be worn at the waist and undergarments should NOT be visible

Crop tops that expose the midsection are not acceptable

Hoods and hats are not to be worn in the building

Students will be given the opportunity to correct their infraction however repeated violation of the Dress Code is considered INSUBORDINATION and consequences will be administered.

Here's to another GREAT week of achieving Excellence through Experiences at THE H.J. MacDonald Middle School!
