Here are the announcements for the Week of Jan 21-25:
In observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr holiday, there’s no school for staff and students tomorrow, January 21.
Parents of 8th grade students: Your child(ren) will be coming home on Tuesday afternoon with informational flyers regarding the Early Colleges and their parent nights as well as another document with important dates to remember.
On Wednesday, Jan 23 all HJM students will take their ELA Benchmark. This assessment will help teachers determine how our Warcubs are progressing towards mastering their ELA standards. Data from these assessments will guide the instructional planning and delivery. Students are encouraged to do their very best so that accurate data can be obtained.
To all 8th graders : NBHS AVID would like to thank those who came out to their AVID Recruitment night. Remember all applications are due Friday February 1st to your counselor. For those unable to attend, applications are available from your counselor.
Looking ahead... Our AVID staff and students are planning a Valentine’s Day Dance. The dance will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 3:30 - 5:30 pm. Admission is $5 and it’s open to ALL current HJM students in good standing. Students who consistently demonstrate the inability to follow behavior expectations during school hours will not be eligible to attend the dance. The theme of the dance is “Dress to Impress”. Leading up to dance students will vote for the 6th grade Prince and Princess, 7th grade Duke and Duchess, and 8th grade King and Queen. The winners will crowned at the dance.
