Craven County Schools Shares 2024–2025 School Performance Results

NEW BERN, N.C. — Today, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction presented the 2024–2025 School Performance Results to the State Board of Education. These results reflect the dedication of Craven County Schools’ students, educators, and staff throughout the past school year.

While the district celebrates notable accomplishments across many schools, school and district leaders also recognize the continued work ahead to ensure success for every student.

Below is a chart showcasing each school’s grade and growth indicator:

District Highlights Include:

·       10 schools met or exceeded growth expectations.

·       Craven Early College and Early College EAST continued their tradition of excellence, meeting or exceeding growth and achieving graduation rates above 95%.

·       The district graduation rate increased from 80.8% to 81.5%.

·       Nine schools increased their School Performance Numerical Grade Score (SPG).

·       18 schools maintained or improved their School Performance letter grade.

·       Several schools previously identified as “D” or low-performing met or exceeded growth, proving that improvement is indeed happening.

“We are encouraged by the progress many of our schools are making and proud of the commitment of our students, educators, and families,” said Mr. Rick Stout, Interim Superintendent. “At the same time, we know there is more work ahead, and we remain committed to continuous growth and academic excellence across all of Craven County Schools.”

The Craven County Schools Board of Education will receive a detailed presentation of the district’s School Performance Results during the Board Work Session on September 16, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. at the Board of Education Administrative Building.
