Partners In Education Annual Spring Luncheon Celebrates Community, Connection, and Support for Public Education

The Partners In Education Annual Spring Luncheon, held on Thursday, May 28, was a packed and inspiring event as educators, administrators, district staff, community members, and friends of public education came together in support of this important fundraiser — and “friends-raiser.”

All proceeds from the event benefit Partners In Education, the education foundation that directly supports Craven County Schools through classroom grants, educator support, and valuable programs such as the BT Store. Over the past 40 years, Partners In Education has provided an incredible $10 million in grants to support teaching and learning across the district.

Dr. Cheeseman, Superintendent of Craven County Schools, opened the event by highlighting the importance of connections, community, and the powerful impact that strong partnerships have on schools. His remarks served as a reminder that when schools and community partners work together, students and educators benefit in meaningful and lasting ways.

Craven County Schools was also honored to welcome State Superintendent Maurice “Mo” Green as the special guest speaker. Superintendent Green shared an inspiring message about the importance of public education, his vision for success, and the shared goal of making North Carolina the best public school system in the nation by 2030. His remarks emphasized the vital role educators, families, community members, and partners play in helping students succeed.

With the dedication of educators and the support of strong partners like Partners In Education, shared goals for student success continue to move forward. Hand in hand, these partnerships help create opportunities, strengthen classrooms, and support the future of public education.
