The Craven County Schools family came together on April 8, 2025, to celebrate the artistic talents of students from all 23 traditional schools during the annual Board of Education Spring Art Show. The event was held at the Board of Education Administrative Building at 3600 Trent Road and welcomed guests from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. for a floating reception.

The building’s hallways were transformed into a vibrant gallery featuring original artwork created by students at all grade levels. Families, art teachers, principals, board members, and students were on hand to admire the wide array of creative expression, from paintings and drawings to mixed media displays.

Acting Superintendent Mrs. Michelle Lee shared her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “Our students’ artwork brings life to the halls of our administrative building and reflects the vibrant creativity nurtured throughout our schools. This event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the arts and the role they play in developing well-rounded learners.”

This annual tradition not only honors student achievement in the arts but also reinforces the district’s commitment to fostering creativity and expression as core components of educating the whole child. The art will remain on display throughout the spring and summer months, with the exhibit concluding at the time of the Fall Art Show.

Community members are encouraged to visit the exhibit during regular business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.) to enjoy the student artwork and experience the pride and passion evident in each piece.
