Craven County Schools Leadership Team Prepares for a Great 2026-2027 School Year

Craven County Schools is already preparing for a strong start to the 2026-2027 school year.

On June 10th, Dr. Cheeseman, Superintendent, led a leadership meeting with all district principals and assistant principals focused on establishing expectations for the year ahead. The meeting provided an opportunity for school leaders to come together, align around shared priorities, and continue building the capacity needed to support students, staff, and families across the district.

The conversation centered on the district’s core business, its true north star, innovation, and the framework for powerful results. These areas will help guide the work of school leaders as they prepare for a new year of teaching, learning, and continuous improvement.

The meeting also served as an important opportunity to set the tone and culture for the upcoming school year. By investing time in leadership development and shared expectations, Craven County Schools is strengthening its commitment to creating school environments where students and staff can thrive.
