Craven County Elementary Students Shine at All-County Chorus Concert

On Tuesday, March 18th, young vocalists from across the district took center stage at the Elementary All-County Chorus Concert, held at Grover C. Fields Elementary School. This annual event brought together talented singers from all fifteen elementary schools for an unforgettable evening of music.

To earn a spot in this elite choral event, students auditioned at their respective schools and dedicated weeks of after-school practice with their music teachers. The experience culminated in a special rehearsal day prior to the concert, where students worked under the guidance of a guest clinician, enhancing their skills and preparing for the big night. This year, students had the opportunity to work with Mr. Preston Kendall, a passionate performer and educator from Charlotte, North Carolina. Mr. Kendall brought energy, expertise, and inspiration, helping students refine their vocal techniques and stage presence. His mentorship elevated the students’ performance, making the evening even more memorable.

From classical arrangements to contemporary favorites, the repertoire showcased the talents and dedication of these young performers.
