Craven County Schools music educators are ready to make the 2026–2027 school year unforgettable!

On August 13, CCS music teachers gathered at New Bern High School for their annual kickoff meeting, bringing together educators from across the district to connect, collaborate, and prepare for another exciting year of music education.

The gathering included educators representing elementary music, middle and high school chorus, and middle and high school band. Together, these talented teachers play an important role in giving students opportunities to discover their creativity, build confidence, strengthen collaboration skills, and experience the joy of making music.

Music education provides students with opportunities to learn and grow both inside and outside the classroom. Whether discovering a love of music for the first time, learning an instrument, finding their voice in a chorus, or preparing for a performance, students are encouraged to challenge themselves and shine.

As our music educators begin another year of inspiring students across Craven County Schools, we look forward to hearing the music, celebrating student performances, and seeing the impact of their dedication throughout the year.

Here’s to a fantastic 2026–2027 school year filled with learning, performing, creativity, and plenty of beautiful music!
