During the first week of August, Craven County Schools held its Annual Bookkeeper Training, bringing together the dedicated professionals who help keep our schools and departments running smoothly each day.

The annual training gives bookkeepers an important opportunity to prepare for the year ahead while strengthening the knowledge and practices that support effective financial operations throughout the district.

Superintendent Dr. Cheeseman and Board of Education Chairman Mr. Lee Kirkman joined the training to recognize this outstanding group of professionals and express their appreciation for the important work they do behind the scenes.

From maintaining accurate records to supporting the day-to-day financial needs of schools and departments, our bookkeepers demonstrate tremendous attention to detail, a commitment to excellence, and a dedication to ensuring everything is done “by the book.”

Craven County Schools extends a heartfelt thank you to our bookkeepers for the vital role they play in supporting our students, staff, schools, and departments.

We appreciate all that you do and wish each of you a successful and rewarding 2026–2027 school year!
