Families from A.H. Bangert Elementary School recently gathered for a special Lunch-N-Learn on internet safety, highlighting the school’s commitment to supporting students both in and out of the classroom.

Held on February 27 at the Craven County Schools Board of Education, the event brought together parents and school leaders for an informative session about helping students navigate the digital world safely. Due to the overwhelming response and large number of participants who registered to attend, the session was moved to a larger space to accommodate the strong turnout—demonstrating the community’s dedication to staying informed and engaged in their children’s education.

The Lunch-N-Learn was led by A.H. Bangert, Media Coordinator, Ms. Ferguson, and Sarah Emmerich, Director of Digital and Blended Learning for Craven County Schools. Together, they provided families with valuable information on internet safety, including strategies to protect students online and promote responsible digital behavior.

The session encouraged open conversation between families and educators, helping parents learn practical ways to support safe technology use at home while reinforcing the digital citizenship skills students are learning at school.

Events like this Lunch-N-Learn reflect A.H. Bangert Elementary’s continued efforts to partner with families and provide meaningful opportunities for learning and engagement within the school community.
