I am excited to begin my twenty-first year in education as the principal at Grover C. Fields Middle. I look forward to working with the staff, students, families, and community to create opportunities for our students to excel.
My wife Nicole and I have a fifteen year old daughter, Avery, two dogs, and two cats. I love to watch almost any sport, with football and hockey being my two favorites.
I thoroughly enjoy being an educator, and am excited to travel the next leg of the journey with everyone in Grizzly Nation!!!

Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Keith L. Davis (Mr. D)
Greetings Grizzlies! I am elated to serve as your Assistant Principal! I was born in North Carolina and raised in the city of Norlina, North Carolina until the age of 10. My family and I relocated to Richmond, Virginia where I graduated from Thomas Dale High School in 1997. I attended Elon College (University) in Elon, NC on a music theatre scholarship and double majored in Music Theatre and Religious Studies graduating with honors. Throughout my college career, I taught theatre arts and language arts for at-risks students during the summer which sparked my initial interests in education.
Upon graduating from Elon College in 2001, I worked professionally as an actor performing in theatres all across the U.S, England, and Germany for 3 years. Upon shifting into my ministerial call, I worked for three years as both a part-time and full-time theatre teacher for Chesterfield County Public Schools in Chesterfield, VA. I relocated to Craven County Public Schools in 2008 where I became the theatre arts teacher and director of theatre productions at GCF for 7 consecutive years until 2015. I earned my teacher certification license from East Carolina University in 2009. Under the mentorship of our former principal Thomasine Hassell, and former Assistant Principal, Dr. Erica K. Mourning, I decided to pursue a master's degree in education. In 2012, I completed my M.S. degree in Educational Administration from the University of Scranton in Scranton, PA. I accepted the position of Assistant Principal at Grover C. Fields in 2015.
In my spare time, I enjoy serving in ministry, performing in play productions, singing, traveling, shopping, binge watching new TV shows, and relaxing when I can find the time. I love our school and all of you who help to make this place so special. As I embark upon my 3rd year as a school leader and my 10th year at Grover, I anticipate an amazing year filled with tremendous student achievements, great personal accomplishments, a positively charged school culture, and everlasting bonds between administators, students, teachers, parents, and our entire school community. Welcome to Grizzly Nation!
