Hello and welcome to art!

My name is Kate Bennett.  This is my thirteenth year teaching elementary art. I graduated from East Carolina University with a BFA in Art Education with a concentration in painting and drawing.  I have always enjoyed art, but it was while taking art classes at Pamlico County High School that my passion for art making grew into pursuing a career in Art Education.   

I reside in Pamlico County with my husband, our 2 dogs, Daisy and Marley, and our Pot Belly pig named Tulip.  I have four amazing stepchildren who fill my life and heart with joy.  In my time outside of teaching and artmaking, I enjoy cooking, fishing, going to the beach, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

I am excited about starting the new school year at AWE and looking forward to meeting all of you.  It's going to be an AWEsome year in art class. Get ready to expand your creativity and have some fun!
