Hello and Welcome to 3rd Grade!

My name is Abby Keeney. I began teaching in January last school year in Craven County Schools. This will be my first year teaching at Arthur W. Edwards Elementary. I am extremely excited to meet all my new students and parents!

I moved to North Carolina in 2019, where I lived in New Bern for a year before moving to Havelock in 2020 to be closer to MCAS Cherry Point. I am from the Chicago suburbs, but ended up in North Carolina because my husband is currently serving in the Marine Corps and is stationed here in Havelock. I have fallen in love with the area and enjoy going to the beach and exploring the coast in my free time. I attended Western Michigan University, the University of Northern Iowa, and Western Governors University where I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.

Teaching is such a vital profession, and I find myself to be very lucky to have such a passion for it. I am continuously growing alongside my students and striving to be the best educator possible. I am extremely grateful to be a part of such an inspirational group of people and could not be more excited for this year.
