Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Sheri-Lynne Estes
I graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a degree in Theater Arts with an emphasis in English Education. Although I currently hold a teaching license for both middle and high school, I have found my home here at New Bern High School. I also hold a certificate in Interpreting for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
I am a wife of twenty years to a retired Marine, and together we have three boys - one in high school, one in middle school, and one at the elementary level. I grew up in Southern California but have been in North Carolina for 14 years now.
My objective this year is to inspire my students to take responsibility for their own education, improve their communication skills, and set them up for success for high school and beyond.
I have been married for twenty years, and together we have three sons; my oldest son is sophomore, my middle son is in sixth grade, and my youngest is in fourth grade. We are also blessed to have my father living with us this year. Our fur babies include a hyperactive Rottweiler-Lab named Lexi and a lovable mutt named Bandit. Even though our household is bustling and almost never quiet, I love sharing my life with all my boys.
Being a full-time teacher and beyond full-time mom doesn't leave much time for hobbies. When I am able to squeeze out some time for myself, I enjoy going to movies, scrap booking, crafting, cake decorating, rollerskating, dancing, theater, visiting with friends, and diving into a good book. I am fluent in American Sign Language, and I take pleasure in visiting amusement parks. One day I hope to visit all of the Disney parks throughout the world.
