Mrs. Danielle L. Shaw

I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2010 with a B.S. in Chemistry.  I started teaching Chemistry and Physical Science at West Craven High School in 2011.  I now teach a wide variety of science classes including: Chemistry, Ecology, Marine Science, and Physical Science.

I did not always plan to become a teacher, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the rewards and challenges of working with young adults.  I hope to inspire each student to take an interest in science and science technology.

Our students will be the change we want to see in our world. As teachers, it is our job to motivate, inspire, encourage, and support all students

I love spending my free time going on adventures!  The picture above is from summer 2016, when we went skydiving in Southport, North Carolina.  It was a thrilling and exhilarating experience.  The best part (besides the adrenaline rush) was the chance to float through a cloud!

As you can probably tell from most of the pictures,  I really enjoy spending time outdoors.  My father is a retired North Carolina Wildlife Officer, so I was very blessed to be raised in a household that values and respects nature and our natural resources.

I also treasure the time that I get to spend with my family.  We have a motto in my family that says, "The family that exercises together, stays together!" The picture above, is of us at the YMCA's Annual 5K Turkey Trot.
