Tips for Parents

Help your child get to school safely by reviewing the following safety tips:

  • Speak with your child and instruct them on how to cross the street to board or depart the bus.  Always pay attention to the bus driver's signal to cross AND stop and look both ways before crossing.  If a vehicle is approaching, WAIT to ensure that it is stopping.  Even if the bus is stopped and the stop sign is deployed, this DOES NOT guarantee that motorists will stop.
  • Have your children put everything they carry in a backpack or school bag so that they won't drop things along the way.
  • Have them wear bright, contrasting colors so they will be more easily seen by drivers.
  • Make sure they leave home on time so they can walk to the bus stop and arrive before the bus is due. Running can be dangerous.

Bus Rider Removal Guidelines   Bus drivers will note student bus riders who do not ride for 10 consecutive days. These student riders will be removed from their bus routes during the monthly bus route revision process. To get your student back onto a bus, please fill out and return a bus request form to your school of attendance. It may take up to 3 school days for an assignment to be made. Go to the forms tab on our page and download the 24-25 bus request form.
