The mission of Career Technical Education (CTE) is to empower all students to be successful citizens, workers, & leaders in a global economy.
CTE is an integral part of the comprehensive secondary school program in Craven County Schools. CTE provides course offerings that meet student needs, interests, abilities, and aspirations. The availability of specific courses is determined by response to opportunities for employment, advanced education, and practical life application.

CTE Teachers Recognized for going Above & Beyond!
Craven County CTE staff are nominated by their peers each month to receive the CTE Above and Beyond Award! One nominee is presented with the CTE Above and Beyond Award each month. This award recognizes individuals who go "above and beyond" in their work and in their support of students.
CTE Above and Beyond Award criteria:
- Sets a high standard of integrity by leading by example, maintains a high personal standard, and promotes a team environment.
- Goes above and beyond by showing exceptional initiative, perseverance, accountability, or commitment in meeting or exceeding school and student needs.
- Has made and continues to have a significant, positive impact on teaching and learning by supporting knowledge sharing and efforts towards building relationships within the school and district.
- Demonstrates a commitment to the school and district by supporting and participating in school and district initiatives.
Our purpose is to honor and celebrate our CTE Staff for exceptional service and performance.
