Board of Education Concern Process
The Craven County Board of Education responds to concerns using the attached process. Board of Education policy 2122: Role of Board Members in Handling Concerns directs that board members will "will refer the parent or citizen to the appropriate school administrator and, when appropriate, advise the person submitting the concern of the procedures in place for expressing concerns."
The Craven County Board of Education has put in place a procedure to not only log concerns and document their resolutions, but also to look for trends and analyze those trends for improvements in Board policies and refer recommendations for district processes. This process mirrors the district's concern process as well.
